Work Experience
During my studies I discovered that I enjoyed both accounting/finance and information systems; hence why I majored in both fields.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant I ventured first into the systems development field; which provided me with good insight into applications and systems development. Together with my studies it enabled me to understand the fundamentals of computer systems and applications very quickly and easily.
Thereafter I ventured into the finance field. As a finance manager I gained experience and understanding of accounting systems in large corporates. Once promoted to senior finance manager I was exposed to the broader field of financial management, general operations management, and executive decision-making.
All my experience to this point came together quite nicely as I saw the interrelationships between financial information, non-financial information, and management information systems, to enable effective and efficient decision-making. My experience also highlighted the importance of strategy, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting, in the broader field of corporate performance management. All my training, experience, personal research, and natural strengths have culminated in my passion for, and expertise in, corporate performance management.
